Grassville UK

Hey everybody, its been such a long time since I have put anything on here, so here goes…

Introducing Grassville UK, this my latest’s Duo with a very talented friend of mine Roberto Ruiz.

Together we play classic to modern music, I sing and play acoustic guitar/ mandolin and Roberto plays Double Bass/electric bass.

Roberto Ruiz Bio.

Originally from New York City, Roberto Ruiz is a session bass player that has moved to the UK. His introduction to the music scene in the UK was due to several tours with Jake Stigers and The Velvet Roots from 2006-2008. He’s now living and working in England as a session player and touring with the legendary sixties group The Animals.
As well as playing original music, Roberto plays in several function bands including Grassville UK. The duo, which highlights the excellent guitar skills of Simon Brady, consists primarily of double bass, acoustic guitar and mandolin. The group plays their own acoustic interpretations of current chart topping hits, country, blues, jazz and rock & roll.

Debut Gig for Tilter Wheel

Tilter Wheel played at Heywood Reform Club to an audience of aficionados, not daunting at all!  I have to admit that this one even got my nerves dancing.  We played three sets of traditional/contemporary bluegrass with the odd bit of country, blues and pop. We were well received and the night has lead the band onto more bookings so watch this space!  You can find Tilter Wheel on facebook for news of our future gigs and twitter for all the exciting things associated to the band as they happen.

Here is a lovely video short of the band playing one of my own pieces “Summer Rain”,

The video was taken and edited by my very talented friend Kirsten Platt and you can see more of her work here.
