How are you all? It’s been a while since my last blog, I have been busy! Here is why…Western Valley Hot Club and Tilter Wheel have both been rehearsing hard so 2015 better watch out. I am pleased to tell you that I am now a member of the renowned northern soul band, The SoulTrain. This is an exciting new challenge for me and I can’t wait to get started, for more information and upcoming gigs, see the website.
On bonfire night i had the pleasure of performing again for Philippa Hanna And The Gentlemen.
The evening was set in a fantastic location in sheffield called Don Valley Bowl situated behind Sheffield ice , on an outdoor stage professionally prepared for 5 bands to play by Heart fm .
What a great evening ! the fire was raging , at least 25ft high which was very welcoming as it was a cold but dry night , and the fireworks display was absolutely awesome ! the best i have ever seen in England.
And the crowed went wild , twenty thousand people attended the event and what a crowd they were .
Very excited about this!
With the sun shining I recently went down to work with my friend and Producer/sound engineer Sean Kenny at Ten21 studios in Bearstead, Kent. This was to record a new set of videos for my website playing my Flatiron F5 Artist Mandolin and demoing an absolutely amazing acoustic guitar made by Alister Atkin (his own personal guitar). With so many mics around me the end result was stunning! Sean really captured the true tone of the instruments.
The videos feature the tunes Beaumont Rag on the Atkin acoustic guitar, and Grandfather’s Clock on Mandolin.
